Pet Documents

Austrian Air will want a health certificate proving the animal is fit for travel, free of contagious illnesses, and adequately immunised, especially if it will be flying in the plane’s cargo hold. When your pet is flying as manifest cargo, Austrian Airlines requires a health certificate signed by your vet within ten days of departure.

Transportation abroad

Austrian Airlines will check to make sure you have the necessary papers to bring your pet into the destination country if you are flying there. The majority of nations have their own distinct veterinary certificates. Additionally, certain nations demand an import permit. In the Pet Travel Store, you may get pet passport applications and instructions.

Pet weather restrictions

Austrian Airlines reserves the right to refuse to board your pet as cargo or checked baggage if the departure airport runway temperature is above 84F (29C). Austrian Airlines may require what is known as an acclimation certificate when the weather is extremely chilly and the runway temperature is below 45F (7C) degrees at the time of departure.
